The Dead Don’t Die opens in the U.S. on June 14th
We passed the halfway mark in Black Summer on this podcast, with episodes Diner and The Heist which were pretty darn strong. Reanimated also chatted about the battle for Winterfell in “The Long Night” episode of Game of Thrones which aired a week ago, so as always watch out for spoilers.
One of the best articles we read on the topic of the battle of Winterfell was this one from Wired magazine of all unlikely sources: https://www.wired.com/story/game-of-thrones-winterfell-battle-tactical-analysis/
Dead Don’t Die is getting a lot of coverage--saw the trailer ahead of Endgame and audience was loving it. Also, Adam Driver is having an excellent year.

Reanimated is becoming well-versed in Joseon at this point, heading to 17th Century Korea for Rampant in this episode.
We didn’t agree at first on our takes on this film, but a lot of that had to do with Kingdom being so fresh in our minds.
Dead Trigger - a Dolph Lundgren zombie movie. Yessssssssss.
Dead Don’t Die’s crazy cast list.
Seven episodes recapped and put to bed. Reanimated closes the door on The Passage. It remains to be seen if the Fox vampire show based on Justin Cronin’s novels will be renewed for a second season.
io9 was not thrilled with the end of The Passage.
Black Summer is coming and it looks good?
Santa Clarita Diet Season 3 is coming and some of us (Stuart) need to get off our ass and watch this show again.

Ein bisschen nachrichten:
Z-Nation is getting a spin off. Maybe this genre really is bullet proof?
TWD is getting ANOTHER spin off. see above.
The third and fourth installments of Kingdom show some great character growth for the hero, the Crown Prince. They’re also pitiless grinders of humanity and innocence and Reanimated felt like a more cynical version of itself after watching.

Chandler Riggs was fired?
Apologies in advance as Reanimated proceeds to gush about Kingdom for the next several episodes. We likey.
What We Do In the Shadows is going to be a TV show and it has a funny trailer, neato!

Season 2 of Kingdom has begun filming - yum.
Dr. Who and Sherlock alumni are making a BBC/Netflix show about Dracula. That’s cool.
World War Z2 is dead? Maybe.
Reanimated was a tad surprised that The Passage chose to continue its slow roll in episode three, but not nearly as surprised as we were to learn that Lacey was apparently just fine. huh.
The collapse of “civilization”
It’s a brand new show for Reanimated this time around, with The Passage, an adaptation of Justin Cronin’s trilogy about vampires. We loved the first book, and so far the show is doing a decent job of adapting it, so come with us!
Wait, another medieval Korean zombie project? um awesome!
Zombieland 2 details are starting to float up, color us intrigued.
We did it you guys. We finally made it through S8. What year is it?
This week we talked about Paul Tassi’s Forbes article questioning why nobody has made the obvious choice for a video game set in TWD’s IP: an open world FPS. Seriously, why hasn’t anyone? Well there are probably like >$100 million reasons. https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2019/01/21/after-the-overkill-mess-can-someone-please-make-the-one-walking-dead-game-that-needs-to-be-made/#694e12cc43ef
Next week “The Passage”
This trio of episodes are basically fine, but mostly serve to bloat out the already bloated eight season with a handful of engaging scenes, and ultimately fail to really capture interest.
